So why do you need a route map for your business? In my experience if you do not have a destination in mind it will be very difficult to get there. What should you put in your route map and how does it work?
First, you need to establish where you are today i.e. profits, performance, grow rate etc. You then need to work out where is it that you want to take the business, it important to know exactly what it is that you want from you businesses many years down the road, is it:
More profits, Customers, Better Cash-flow, a Passive income, a Better lifestyle,
Once you have decided what it is that you want from your business you will need to complete a priority list, it sometimes helps to do this in reverse order:
Where do I want to be in 10 years’ time?
Where do I want to be in 5 years’ time?
Where do I want to be in 3 years’ time?
Where do I want to be in 1 years’ time?
Where do I want to be in 90 days’ time?
You should then start to focus on the short-term objectives and that will start to move you towards your medium-term objectives followed by your long-term objectives.
Remember where you will be in 5 years’ time depends on the people that you meet, the things that you learn and the actions that you take.
Business is like a game how well you are going to start playing your game, and how good will you need to become to be a top performer and who will help you to become the best that you can?
